MANILA- A press conference from Philippine Airlines was giving last week a glimpse of the new launches that the airline is expected to provide from this summer. The expansion will take place to the Middle East with the launch of new routes to Doha, Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah and Dubai this winter. “From the UAE, for example, overseas Filipino workers can easily connect to other key cities or countries through PAL’s airline partners in the Gulf,” said Ramon Ang at the press conference in front of mostly local media.
From November 1, Dubai will join the airline’s network followed on December 1 by new frequencies to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Doha. The announcement program follows a first expansion program announced earlier this year. Philippine Airlines indiquated then that new frequencies would link Manila to Kuala Lumpur, Darwin, Brisbane, Perth, Guanzhou and Abu Dhabi.
Flights to Kuala Lumpur are imminent and will go on from May 2. Darwin, Brisbane and Perth will follow on June 1, Guangzhou on June 2, and Abu Dhabi on October 1.
Code share agreements have already been signed with Qatar Airxways on the Doha route, and with Emirates to Dubai.
