Day 1: Transfer to Queen national park (6-7hrs)
Have morning breakfast at the hotel in Kampala, then depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. We shall have a stop at the Equator for photographs and break tea, lunch in Mbarara town, arrive at the park by late afternoon. Time permitting, take an evening visit to Katwe Crater Lake salt mining and experience flamingo birds as the sun is setting off. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge, Enganzi lodge, Katara lodge, Simba safari camp, Ishasha wilderness camp and Mweya hostel. Meal plan: Full-Board
Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise in Kazinga channel
Dawn game drive to spot quite variety of wildlife like some of the big five that include the lions, elephants, buffalos other animals include warthogs, water bucks, bush bucks, oribi, leopards, topi, heart beasts among others. Return to lodge for lunch, afternoon take boat cruise along the River. This cruise is much awesome because it passes through the concentration of the wildlife animals with clear scenic view of birds, animals along the shores. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park; Home of gorillas.
Today we shall wake up early and start our brave day with breakfast, after we shall drive to Ishasha sector famously loved by its tree climbing lions and we shall use this opportunity with chance to spot them resting in the branches fig trees. Have en-route lunch and after depart for Bwindi national park situated in the southern end with our evening arrival and check in and later for our dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest camp, Ruhijja gorilla lodge, Mahogany springs, Gorilla Mist Camp or Wagtail Eco camp. Day 4: First Gorilla Tracking Tour
Have breakfast at the lodge and you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing from the Park rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the Gorillas, before embarking on the memorable activity of tracking the amazing apes. Trekking gorillas will take you through thick vegetation and the ease of finding the Gorillas will depend on the movement of the animals with in their natural habitat. A maximum of one hour will be allowed with the Gorillas for photographing and observation. Later descend to your Lodge for late Lunch. In the evening, if interested, you may go for cultural walk to nearby communities, where you will be entertained by the Batwa Community, and learn more about their Unique history. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge / Gorilla Mist Camp, Buhoma community rest camp.
Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park – Rwanda
Breakfast at the lodge and start a picnic drive to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. We shall cross through Cyanika boarder in Kisoro. The journey goes through beautiful scenic views of the Kigezi region, famously known as the Switzerland of Africa. Enjoy adventurous views of winding roads, deep valleys and mountains in Kisor region, enroute visit to the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, arrive to Ruhengeri in Rwanda by late afternoon or early evening, dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / Hotel Gorillas / Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Tracking Adventure, Rwanda
An early morning breakfast is followed by transfer to Kinigi park headquarters (with packed water) for, guide allocation and briefing about gorilla tracking. This is followed by a drive to the trailheads where hiking and trekking up the hills to the bamboo zone begins. Hiking, trekking and tracking gorillas may take 2-7 hours, depending on their movements. Sight and stay with these gentle giant apes is 1hour. Descend to the hotel for late lunch. Time permitting, visit the panoramic twin volcanic lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / Hotel Gorillas / Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Day 7: Travel back to Kampala / Entebbe Airport OR proceed to kigali
After your breakfast, we shall start a 2 hrs drive to Kigali (Rwanda capital), do city to Gisozi genocide memorial museum, art and crafts shopping, visit local fruit markets after which we shall transfer to the airport for your scheduled departure flight.
Alternatively, you will set off for your return journey. Stopover in Mbarara for lunch before continuing the journey to Kampala / Entebbe Airport. Settle in your hotel or be transferred to the airport for your flight if it is on schedule.
